I will continue my searches, thanks for your response. but alas, that driver is PS only because the print out comes out as garbage text with the header at the top. I've tried many different drivers, including the HP Colour Laserjet 5500, which from what I read should work. The generic PCL drivers on the Mac do print in B&W, but none work in colour. Dell's 3100cn is PCL+PS, but the 3000cn is strictly PCL. Redarding what you wrote about the 3000cn at the beginning, that model is NOT Postscript. I figured it out, but my tests were unsuccessful, mostly due to the computer with the raw queue not allowing incoming connections. I had to read a fair amount to figure out how to do all of that. The guy suggested to create a raw print queue to the device, and then create a different queue with a generic PCL driver pointing to the raw print queue. One suggested method was in regards to colour printing on that model from linux. I spent all afternoon yesterday trying different ways. Thanks for all the info Matt, I'll try your suggestions.
